Orienteering

Over the last 4 weeks, Year 3/4 have been incredibly lucky to be able to participate in weekly Orienteering lessons, run by Anita from Orienteering ACT. The aim in orienteering is to navigate your way around a course with a series of numbered checkpoints. The course is marked on a map  with coloured symbols. We have been learning about compass points for direction, how to read maps and how to use specialist Orienteering equipment such as SI Sticks to record our accuracy and time around a mapped course.Take a look at some of the fantastic photos of our Orienteering experience.

What was something you learnt about Orinteering?
