Graphing Greatness

Year 4 have been investigating data collection and graphing in Maths. They were given the task of developing a census question and then collecting data from the other year 4 students and teachers. They then had to put their data into a table. After that they looked at both bar and line graphs. Finally students had to analyse their data and make some statements about what their data showed. Take a look at some of the sensational work that the year 4 students produced.

Fine Motor skills

Anything children do with their hands relies on the fine motor muscles and skills. At school children spend up to 60% of their day performing tasks that involve the use of their fine motor skills.

In the Realm of Rodda we practice our fine motor skills every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Fine motor skills help to improve our writing, drawing, and manipulation skills.

Have a look at some of the fun activities that help us to improve our fine motor skills.

What fun or creative activities have you tried at home that use fine motor skills?

Biomes

We have been learning about Biomes in the Realm of Rodda. Over the next few weeks we will learn all about the Tundra, Grasslands, Deserts, Forests and Aquatic Biomes. Take a sneak peek at some of the amazing thinking and learning that we have done already!

The Grasslands can be found in many places around the world. Do you know where in the world you might find Grasslands and what it is called in that place?

For example: The Grasslands in Australia are also known as the Rangelands.

Our Fleeting Past

'Our Fleeting Past' is a History Inquiry about the discovery of Australia, with an emphasis on the First Fleet and early settlement of Sydney. Today we began our final activity for the Inquiry. We are creating paper tall ships. Take a look at some of the wonderful work that students have created so far.

The Middle Learning Community really are a talented (and messy) group of artists.

What interesting or unusual information can you share with us about the First Fleet?

ANZAC

We have had an incredibly busy start to Term 2 in the Realm of Rodda.

We began the week with our school ANZAC assembly, ran by some amazing Year 3/4 students. We have also been learning about the ANZAC Spirit and reading lots of ANZAC themed books.

Take a look at some of our amazing ANZAC images.
What images represent the ANZAC Spirit to you?
